As promised, here are the answers to last week's quiz:
1. Pilgrims. The puritans joined forces with Oliver Cromwell to rid England of decadence, so cancelled Christmas. They believed that there was no basis to celebrate what was clearly a pagan holiday, since no one really knew what time of year Christ was born.
2. c.
3. a
4. c
5. His was a virgin birth, as was foretold by the prophet Micah. He was foretold in the book of Genesis to become the sacrifice for mankind.
6. c
7. An orange decorated with ribbon, a candle, four sticks, fruit and nuts...meant to represent Christ's Light.
8. Christ was born to die for our sins. He became one of us to show us his great love.
9. b
10. b
Bonus question: The wise men brought gifts to the baby Jesus of gold, frankincense and myrrh. In some of the scriptures it mentions a house when they left from meeting Herold. Herold ordered all boy babies two years and younger killed in that area. So it could have been any time from the time Christ was born and when they received the sign to go back a different route.
I have enjoyed writing this quiz as I learned so much that I didn't know before. I do think that I will continue to work on these blogs....and do more with my writing. I get excited when I think about all the possibilities there are to be had. I have definitely grown in the past year with all that I learned. I'm hoping to set up a website soon, and maybe finally get something published besides this blog...:-)

Christmas time
December 15th....
I've been thinking about time again today. 30 years ago my little brother was born. It seems like only yesterday I held him in my arms. Now he's a married man with a baby of his own. Where has time flown? Some times I feel time is slipping by me. I look around and feel as if I've been left standing still while the world speeds past me.

Time Warriors
December 8, 2009
This is my first blog. It seems kind of scary at first to be putting myself out like this. It's also kind of exciting as well. I choose "Time Warriors" for my blog for a number of reasons. The first is that I've always had an interest in time. I've written a couple of novellas, novels and various short stories with this theme. In two of the stories, I explain what "time warriors" are. Time warriors are caught between the strands of time, fighting for good....and fighting against evil.
